Departing from Strandvägen, we cruise through the heart of the city, passing beneath Skeppsholmsbron and enjoying unique sea‑level views of iconic landmarks such as the National Museum, Grand Hôtel, Royal Palace, Gamla Stan (Old Town), and Slussen.
After Slussen, we follow the same scenic route used by large cruise ships as they enter Stockholm, with Royal Djurgården on our port side. At Blockhusudden, on the eastern edge of Djurgården, speed limits are left behind and the adventure truly begins. Here we open up the throttles and head out into the archipelago.
Now surrounded by islands, red summer houses, rocky shores, and open water, you’ll experience the authentic archipelago lifestyle — with plenty of opportunities for stunning photos along the way. Our journey takes us towards Vaxholm, passing historic waterways such as Oxdjupet and the impressive Vaxholm Fortress (Vaxholms Kastell), once built to defend Stockholm from attack by sea.
We continue through Stegesundet, a narrow and picturesque channel that perfectly captures the essence of archipelago life, with charming boathouses, saunas, and private jetties lining the shores. Approaching Vaxholm, often called the capital of the archipelago, you’ll truly understand why this region is so special.
On the return journey to Stockholm, we take a different route, cruising through Djurgårdskanalen — a beautiful natural waterway that winds through Djurgården, Stockholm’s central park area — before arriving back in the city.
